Kravchenko Nikita
The sun was my first teacher of photography. You cannot ask it to wait for 2 minutes and give you some time to drink your tea or overcharge a camera. You have to seize the moment. And I began to do so when I got my first reflex camera.
I was born in the city of Kiev, in 1980. 9 years ago I occupied myself with photography and till now I am engaged in this. I obtained technical education. During my study I participated in many competitions and won prizes. In 2000 I took part in the out-exhibition of Ukrainian photoartists “Voices and perspectives”, Abu-Dabi. In 2001 my photographs were presented at the personal exhibition organized jointly with the photoartist Elena de Rokambol. At this exhibition which took place in the gallery of “Museum in one street” (Andrew’s slope, Kiev) I also presented artworks by talented sculptor Yurhen.
Photography allows to save quickly and easily those fleeting moments which you could miss. Modern technics gives unlimited possibilities for reproduction of these moments. Photography may be considered as a wizardry, the wizardry of impersonation and change, or as an art of time stopping not to freeze it but to prolong instants. Only painting can fight against photography by the possibility to stop the time and I do not know which one will be the winner in this controversy.
